Against All Odds – Flt. Lt. Geoffrey ‘Boy’ Wellum joins combat head-on with a Dornier during the Battle of Britain. He was part of a small group of 10 Spitfires from Biggin Hill facing 150 plus enemy bombers and fighters. Other friendly fighters joined battle, but the defenders were still vastly outnumbered, a scene repeated on many occasions in the summer of 1940. On this particular day Wellum scored a Heinkel destroyed, together with a Dornier as a probable.
