Going Solo – Philip says… “This is a painting of me “Going Solo” during my private pilot licence course. I was fortunate in that a good friend of mine just happened to be around on the day to photograph the event. I didn’t know I was going to do it and nor did he. I’d pitched up at Old Sarum airfield expecting to go on a cross-country training flight and thought it was just another practice day. I’d completed 8 hours training and I guess my instructor must have considered me ready (either that or he’d gone mad) because he told me to go off on my own and do three circuits then make a full stop landing. The dream had become a reality.”
