Ely Cathedral stands out majestically in early evening light, always a very welcome sight for Pathfinder crews returning to RAF Wyton, following dangerous missions over occupied enemy territory during World War 2. Mosquitos and Lancasters, based at Wyton, led the way in marking targets for large Allied bomber formations. Their crews played a pivotal role and displayed great skill and courage.
