There can be very few commercial aircraft to match Concorde for sheer beauty, grace, power and engineering excellence. A tailless aircraft design, Concorde featured a streamlined fuselage with seating for 92 to 128 passengers, an ogival (double delta) wing and a droop nose for landing visibility. Four Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 turbojets with variable engine intake ramps, and reheat for take-off and acceleration to supersonic speed. It was also the first airliner to have analogue fly-by-wire flight controls and was capable of maintaining supercruise up to Mach 2.04 (1,347 mph) at an altitude of 60,000 ft. British Airways operated Concorde for over thirty years, thrilling passengers and onlookers wherever it appeared in the world.
