A photo reconnaissance de Havilland Mosquito coasts homeward bound following a highly dangerous mission over enemy held territory to gather vital intelligence in support of Allied forces following the D-Day landings of June 1944. The Mosquito proved to be a true thoroughbred – produced in many different variants including bomber, fighter and reconnaissance. Its main attribute was its speed and versatility, serving in all operational combat theatres throughout the war.
