Winter of ’41 – Heavy snow during the winter of 1941 sometimes kept pilots and their aircraft grounded including Spitfire ‘G’ George assigned to Sqn. Ldr. Geoffrey ‘Boy’ Wellum. Just one of the many pilots grateful to the skill and determination of the ground crews who worked in challenging weather conditions to prepare their aircraft to help make sure they came home safely.
